 ARLINGTON VISITORS

Dave Ballard, Denver, CO, 11/22/04

I was in DC earlier this week on business and went to Arlington to spend some quite time with Ken.  It was a cool and overcast day with the autumn leaves falling all around Ken's resting place.  We spent some time sharing our love in that special way that only God can provide us.  As I got up to leave, I looked up at the headstone immediately behind Ken and noticed a familiar name.  The name was CAPT David C. Cross, who died in a helicopter accident on January 22nd, 2003.  The name caught me by surprise because David Cross was my manager's son.  When I see Dave again, I'll be sure and let him know that his son is watching over my nephew Ken and that Dave is in great company.  It doesn't take away the pain, but hopefully it will continue to give us strength in knowing that our fine soldiers continue to do us proud in serving our country and giving us the freedom to celebrate each and every day, especially during this special day of Thanksgiving.  Thank you Ken.  God bless you.

Joe & Linda Rhyne, Little Silver, NJ, 12/4/04

It was an honor to visit Ken's gravesite.  I only know Ken's mom through emails, but I feel connected to her, thus to Ken.  Ken and my son served in the same unit in Iraq.  The sun was setting behind the headstone and it was a very powerful experience.  The dignity and beauty of Arlington is a tribute to those who rest there.  Ken is a hero for all of us. We continue to pray for all of the families who have given the ultimate sacrifice.

Debbie Hillin, Nashville, TN 12/6/04

My name is Debbie Hillin and I am Buford Rachford's Mother-in-law.  I, along with my boss, recently had the opportunity to visit with Ken at the request of my daughter.  Upon leaving, my boss, Jerry Risner, a Vietnam vet, saluted your son for his bravery.  It was very moving.  I will have Amanda send you the pictures.

In thoughts and prayers- Debbie Hillin
